Sandhill Crane Migration
Sandhill Cranes try to gain 20% of their body weight during their migration north.
Sandhill Crane formations look like snakes in the sky.
The cranes rest on small sand bars in the Platte River to avoid predators at night.
They're beautiful in flight!
In the morning they lift off en masse from the sand bars making an almost defending sound.
The setting sun over the Platte River.
